The objective of this project is to develop a web-based mapping application that enables users to investigate the distribution of different soil types across Austria. The application provides users with information about the coverage of each soil type within Austria. Additionaly, it also provides users with an introductory text on each soil type, along with an image of its corresponding soil horizons. The storymap below documents the entire creation process, encompassing data acquisition, design development, implementation, and evaluation. The web application is available for access via the Salzburg University Department of Geoinformatics’ ArcGIS Online service.
